The Good: Well Samsung has got used to launching wonder gadgets especially smartphones and gadgets. Samsung Galaxy S II is yet another winner from the electronic manufactures. The smartphone comes with an impressive fast dual core processor with a huge screen size. If you thought that was all, the smartphone also comes with 4G capability and excellent cameras.
The Bad: But not everything can be perfect. The phone comes with its flaws though they can also be called minor irritants. The phone doesn’t have a hardware camera button and you also have to remove the battery if you want to access the microSD card.
The bottom line: Well these irritants are only minor and can be overlooked because the processor and the screen quality is a winner as it is comparable to iPhone 4S which comes with a Retina Display.
Design: On the design front the Samsung Galaxy S II emerges a winner. Galaxy S II comes with the tag of being the thinnest high end smartphone at just 125 X 66 X 8.5 mm and it also is one of the lightest gadgets as well and it weighs just 115 grams. But the lightness comes at a cost. The back panel in order to help in reducing the weight of the phone has a very flimsy look and feel to it.
But with every new smartphone Samsung is improving on the design and the structure. It has a long way to go in the form of design when compared to its rivals like LG’s T Mobile G2x.
Processor and Operating System:
Samsung Galaxy S II comes with a fast dual core processor. In fact this smartphone was among the first few phones that were powered by a dual core processor. It runs on a 1.2 GHz Dual-core Cortex-A9 processor which performs brilliantly while multi tasking, HD Video and advanced gaming as well.
This processor is a mild step up from the single core processor so you should be warned and not have unrealistic expectations regarding the speed.
The phone functions on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. To this Samsung has added a few interface tweaks of their own. The Touch Wiz 4.0 has four Hubs; Social Music, Game and Reader Sections. But these four Hubs will have to work a lot in order to match up to the contents of the Android Market.

Screen: Samsung Galaxy S II comes with a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Plus display screen with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. The resolution of the S II is just slightly behind iPhone 4 S which has a resolution of 640 X 960 pixels. The colours show up well on the screen in fact it is one of the best among its competitors. The touch screen is highly sensitive and responsive to the slightest touch which makes working on the phone easy and enjoyable.
The screen comes with a Corning Gorilla Glass which makes sure that the screen is toughened and is dust as well as scratch resistant.
Battery Life: A smartphone with a fast processor would be a disappointment if the battery was a letdown. Samsung Galaxy S II makes sure it doesn’t do that. It is powered by a 1,650 mAh lithium ion battery. The battery provides the user with up to 710 hours of standby time and up to 19 hours of talk time. A user can use the phone on a single charge for a day.
Camera: The smartphone comes with an 8 mega pixel rear camera which takes pictures with the resolution of 3,264 X 2,448 pixels. The camera comes with features like anti-shake and face- and blink-detection. The final picture quality is good and the images in the picture are clearly defined and crisp. The colours are very close to the original.
Galaxy S II also has a 2 mega pixel front facing camera which gives the users the option to make video calls. The camera also comes with HD video recording with 1080 pixels. The videos look smooth and sharp.
Storage and Connectivity: Samsung Galaxy S II comes with two memory options; 16 GB and 32 GB. Along with this internal memory the phone also has a slot for a microSD card which allows the user to expand the memory further up to 32 GB.
Price and Availability: The Smartphone from Samsung is slightly on the higher side with a price tag of Rs.28,000.
