Ujjivan Small Finance Bank (SFB) has announced that its Hello Ujjivan mobile app has facilitated over Rs 690 crore in financial transactions since launch, helping bring digital banking to first-time borrowers. Designed for microbanking customers, the app serves as a vital link between financial exclusion and economic empowerment.

With over 13 lakh downloads, Hello Ujjivan has gained strong adoption, particularly among women, who make up 98% of its user base, with an average age of 35. Through the app, users have made Rs 277 crore in loan repayments, Rs 358 crore in deposits, and Rs 34 crore in new loan disbursements. Additionally, more than 36,000 Hospicare insurance policies worth Rs 2.4 crore have been purchased digitally.

As India’s first voice-visual-vernacular mobile banking app, Hello Ujjivan supports 11 languages, combining voice assistance, visual navigation, and multilingual accessibility. This approach helps customers, many of whom are new to formal banking, easily manage tasks like loan acknowledgements, savings, insurance, and fund transfers without needing to visit a branch.

Vibhas Chandra, Head of Micro Banking and Gold Loan at Ujjivan SFB, said the app has boosted confidence among customers using digital financial tools for the first time. “Hello Ujjivan is helping our customers take greater control of their finances while building long-term digital habits”,  he added.

The app has received several awards, including the Aegis Graham Bell Award, SKOCH Award, and Business Today Best Banks Award, for innovation in financial inclusion. Ujjivan plans to expand the app’s features by FY26 to further deepen digital engagement.
