The PE investments have been focusing on many Indian sectors over time. Among various emerging sectors Real estate has shown impressive stats. An investment worth $9,055 million through 152 deals was fetched by the Real estate sector during 2005 to 2012. Banking and Financial Investments grabbed investments worth $7,353 and the volume of investments were near to 263. The Telecom and Information Technology sectors grasped investments worth $6,953 and $6,887 during 2005 to 2012.
5. Top Private Equity Investment Sectors
The sectors that ranked among the top Private Equity investment sectors in the year 2012 are It & ITeS, Pharmaceutical, Health Care & Biotech, Real estate, banking and Financial Services. With $1867 million investments, It & ITeS ranks first in the list. Pharmaceutical, Health Care & Biotech rank second with $856 million investment in its sector. Gradually Real estate, Banking and Financial services grabbed the third and fourth places with $715 million and $687 million investments. Other sectors that made it to the list of top 10 sectors are Power and energy, FMCG, Food and Beverages, Hospitality, Infrastructure Management and Logistics and last but not the least Media and Entertainment.
