2. Few Big Deals in Private Equity
Few of the giant Private Equity deals during the period of 2005-2012 include Temasek Holdings in Bharti Airtel i.e. in the telecom sector; the deal took place in 2007 and was $1,907 million. The Bain Capital investment in Genpact was one of the major deals in the Private Equity sector in 2012 worth $1,000 million. In the year 2006 Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co invested in Flextronics Software that belongs to the IT & ITeS which was worth $ 1,035 million.
3. Indian Venture Capital Outlook and Trends
Over the last few years India has emerged as a promising destination for Venture Capital investments. During the period of 2007 to 2012 India witnessed around $5 billion venture capital investments through 973 deals. The deals included various sectors like Enterprise Software, Digital Consumer, Engineering, Technology and many more. The Technology sector contains mainly three major areas of investment in Indian Venture Capital. These areas are Digital Consumer, Enterprise Software and Engineering.
