Hidden Charges You Pay Over and Over Again

9. Charges on “in branch transactions”

Visiting your bank physically for banking transactions? Not a good idea. Sometimes when you do your transactions in the bank they might charge you for that. Some of such chargeable services are cash withdrawal, fund transfers, balance enquiry, cash deposits and Demand draft preparation. Better option is to do all your transactions via tele-banking, net banking or even via ATM machines. These transactions can be executed easily via ATM or net banking. Many banks have put limits on how many times you can do free transactions in a month or quarter by visiting the branch.

10. Charges on bouncing cheques

Bouncing of cheques owing to lack of funds in the bank account is considered as an offence and hence most banks charge if the cheques get returned owing to financial reasons. These charges can range anywhere between 250 and 1500 per bounced cheque. Ensure that your account balance supports all cheques which you have issued in order to prevent cheque return charges.
