Federal Card Services Invests USD 250 Million to Launch First India Facility in Pune

Federal Card Services (FCS), a global leader in premium metal and eco-friendly payment cards, has announced its entry into India with a USD 250 million investment across technology, real estate, and services. As part of this expansion, FCS is setting up its first manufacturing unit in Pune, Maharashtra, which will focus on producing metal and biodegradable cards, boosting India’s fintech manufacturing ecosystem.

The Pune facility, strategically located near Mumbai, will leverage the region’s strong talent pool and logistics network to serve markets across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. The 32,000 sq. ft. facility has completed its first phase and is now in the process of equipment calibration and workforce training. Operations are set to begin in February 2026, starting with an annual capacity of 2 million cards, and scaling up to 26.7 million cards.

FCS works with major partners including Axis Bank, VISA, Mastercard, and FPL Technologies (OneCard).  Matías Gainza Eurnekian, CEO of Federal Card Services, said, India will play a key role in FCS’s global expansion, calling it a strategic hub for innovation, talent, and sustainable manufacturing.

The company’s sustainable cards use biodegradable materials like certified wood, coffee fiber, and plant-based composites, offering a durable, eco-friendly alternative to PVC.

FCS operates across five continents, serving over 100 clients, and aims to make India a cornerstone of its global operations.
