Bangalore: The Indian Private Equity sector has gone through a lot of ups and downs over the past few years. There has been an extensive importance, both national as well as international, in the private equity sector which is obvious from the fact that the total Venture Capital Funds dedicated to investments in India has amplified exponentially. Grand Thornton in its "Fourth Wheel-2012" report presents an insight to the Private Equity sector in the corporate scenario in India. 1. Private Equity Investments in India

As the global economy slowly over came one of the biggest economic crisis till date it is not that difficult to understand why the private equity funds rating has decreased over time. However the market has been able to get itself back on track and PE investments have once again been in spot light. In terms of value the total PE investment during the time period 2005-2012, it has been on a roller coastar. 2007 witnessed the highest investment that was worth $19.0 billion. 2012 had $7.4 billion investments which had dropped compared to 2011. But again in terms of volume there were around 400 private equity investments in India.
