The objective of the fund is seeking to generate long term capital growth from an actively managed portfolio of equity and equity related securities primarily being midcap stocks. However, it could move a portion of its assets towards fixed income securities if the fund manager becomes cautious or negative on the Indian equity markets.

The Net Asset Value (NAV) for the scheme is Rs.18.91 as on April 3, 2012. Since its inception, the Risk Return Value (RRV) has been 9.70 percent as on April 3, 2012 and for the month has been 5.99 percent. The Earnings Per Share (EPS) is Rs.14.61 as on February 2012. The top holdings are - Bombay Dyeing & Manufacturing Company, PI Industries, Dena Bank, Jammu and Kashmir Bank, Apollo Tyres, Polaris Software Lab, Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation, Venkys, Tube Investments of India and Aditya Birla Nuvo.
