Ameera Patel

Ms.Ameera Patel is the CEO and Executive Director of Metropolis Healthcare Ltd., a multinational chain of diagnostic centers. A successful young entrepreneur, Ms. Patel heads India’s leading chain of diagnostic centers, Metropolis. She is highly respected in the healthcare world and has been recently voted by Modern Medicare as The Young entrepreneur of the Year in India. Her leadership efforts in diagnostics have drawn recognition both for Indian Industry and Metropolis. Ms Patel has been elected the Secretary of the IAPL (Indian Association of Pathology Laboratories) and is a member of most prominent diagnostics and healthcare committees in CII. Ms. Patel received a degree in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin and has been recently selected as part of the prestigious Owner-President Program at Harvard University. Under her stewardship, Metropolis has evolved from its single pathology laboratory status in 2002 to a fully integrated multinational chain of 60 diagnostic centers across South Asia, Middle East and Africa in 2010. Using her deal-making abilities, the company has expanded at a scorching pace in India and has created substantial JV’s in Sri Lanka, UAE and South Africa. Under her leadership, Metropolis has become a well-respected healthcare brand, catering to more than 10,000 small labs, nursing homes and hospitals, over 20,000 consultants and processes more than 12 million test annually. Her vision has been to change the dynamics of the industry, through consolidation and consistent innovation. Gita Ramachandran

Gita a rank holder from Calicut University has over 31 years of varied experience comprising of about 11 years in Projects and Maintenance Departments in Electrical discipline. Later she architected many distributed applications on LAN in multiple domains in Computer Systems and Services Department of BPCL Refinery. As the architect of the Intranet Dynamic Applications site, on the Corporate Web, she won the Golden Peacock Innovative Product / Services Award instituted by IOD, for the year 2002, for BPCL Gita initiated and set up the ‘Enterprise Master Governance’ for BPCL which was selected by SAP for demonstration in the SAP Summit and was also presented at the Oil and Gas Asia Pacific International Conference at Changmai in Nov 2007 . As a member of the team, a unique world record, of implementing SAP with 5 major modules in 56 days was also achieved for BORL in Nov 2007. As the Project manager for implementing 2nd phase of SAP for BORL she took up the challenge and got the modules live in a record 47 days in Nov 2009. Gita spearheaded the implementation of Unified Communication for BORL making BORL pioneers in the Petroleum Industry to have implemented IP Telephony as a means of communication. She has implemented various technologies in the grass root Refinery including a Secure/Robust / Resilient LAN, Wireless LAN, WAN with MPLS, VOIP, Collaboration tools like Audio, Desktop video and Web Conferencing , Email, Intranet with dynamic applications, Share Point Portal for Office documents, Bentleys Project-wise for Engineering drawings, Project server for project scheduling, Physical Security Solutions using Video Surveillance, Network, Content & End Point Security Technologies, and many other initiatives under her jurisdiction as CIO. Gita also won the National Award for Outstanding Women executive for the year 2003_2004 by National Petroleum Management Program.

Responsible for revenue and P&L of the accounts managed and attracting and retaining the best talents. Ramani is a Panel Member of DAWN (Diversity And Women’s Network) initiative led by TCS. A Chartered Accountant by profession, she has 21 years of experience in Service Industry. Started her career with A.F. Ferguson & Co and then moved to become Senior Manager with PwC. Set up a STPI captive BPO company for the UK parent and run the company as a director on the board.

During her tenure in CSO for MCX, which is part of the Financial Technologies conglomerate, she introduced various CSR systems and processes related to Policy Formulation, Business Inclusive models, Employee Engagement practices and Environmental Sensitization programs. A trained CSR professional from the Swedish Institute, Sweden, her core expertise lies in developing inclusive business models and creating the brand value for CSR. As a communicator and researcher, she has done extensive research on linkages between health and environment while with India’s premier NGO – Centre for Science and Environment (CSE). LYNN DE SOUZA became Chairman and CEO of Lintas Media Group, one of India’s largest media agencies in 2008, and is also the Chairman of Aaren Initiative, India’s largest out-of-home agency, and of Karishma Initiative. She began her media career at O&M, before moving on to run the media function at Grey (then Trikaya), and joined the Lintas Group in 1995.
