Early Test Paradigm - Architecture Testing
The ever shrinking time to market with attendant application complexities has thrown challenges for testing as well, as they are the final guardians of quality. The over the wall mindset for testing had long been overthrown specially with almost every organization moving to Agile methodology in some way, but is testing really positioned to deliver quality in ever reducing timelines? A trend towards early test paradigm (ETP) with new innovative yet specialized areas like Architecture testing has started emerging. Here you model and test the architecture for compliance or drift, either for an existing or a new application. The drift can then be resolved as an intentional change or a side effect of a change which needs to be corrected. Although still a new area it can help prolong the lifespan of applications or products.
Speaker
Sanjay Sircar, Asst. Vice President & Testing CoE Head, Birlasoft (India)

12:10PM – 12:50PM: Session 3
Improving Test Productivity and Coverage through Framework driven Test Automation
Framework driven Test Automation development, has been advocated by several companies and experts in the last decade. The productivity gains, efficiency in maintaining automation code and quality of test automation code have all been spoken about at length, but really how many have actually implemented such frameworks, how they have implemented, what benefits they have been reaping are all very specific to each such effort.
Key take-aways:
Open source based test automation framework that provides-
  • Cost effective and quality solutions to your clients
  • A great opportunity for manual testers to equally partake in test automation making it less expensive, fun and motivating for the entire test team
  • Faster test cycles, improved test productivity and more time available for testers to take on other test tasks
  • A more universal test automation effort that is understandable and maintainable by the entire test team, in an agile development cycle
  • Enhanced test coverage by leveraging built-in virtualization
    Speaker
Mukesh Sharma, Founder & CEO, QA InfoTech

    12:50PM to 01:50PM: Lunch
Break for lunch and a chance to catch up with each other!

    01:50PM – 02:30PM Session 4
    Analytics driven Software Testing
Requirements are never going to freeze, customer preferences usage and choices are ever-changing, with tighter go-to-market timelines, limited test resources budget, it is very important to direct testing effort only onto the right and relevant focus areas. Increased test execution does not necessarily translate into increased test coverage. This session brings in analytics driven software testing approach for addressing these issues and provides a thinking platform for teams/individuals to start brainstorming and learn/adapt for making testing a relatively easier and interesting project.
    Speaker
Ajay Jain, Engineering Manager - Quality, Adobe Systems

    02:30PM – 03:10PM: Session 5
Open source tools used in effective testing
As its evident from today's scenario, low cost is & would be the major factor in determining the fate of the services companies. Companies would still be required to not only maintain but also keep improving quality of their services in order to sustain in shorter-term. Open source is the only way to go for; not only going through the tough times ahead but also to keep improving their operating margins. In the current market, open source tools have become way stable and perform fairly well to meet ever increasing customer demands. The session would cover various open source tools, their advantages, effectiveness in testing and scope of improvement.
    Speaker
Abhishek Talwar, Head of Testing and Partner, Hexaview Technologies

    03:10PM to 03:40PM: Afternoon Break
Some time out for you to grab another coffee and a well earned rest.

    03:40PM – 04:20PM: Session 6
Understanding the ins and outs of ATDD, BDD and TDD
The discussions happening around the agile community for ATDD, BDD and TDD looks promising to fit-in the current market scenario. As TDD helps software developers in producing working, high-quality code, ATDD helps developers build high-quality software that fulfills the business’s needs. Similarly, BDD ensures high cohesion between implementation and domain. This session will provide an insight into these practices and the advantages each one of them offers during product testing.
    Speaker
Vipul Gupta, Senior Test Architect, Impetus Technologies

    04:20PM – 05:00PM: Session 7
    Automation Testing using Selenium
This session is about looking into the challenges in Test Automation, keeping in mind the points to be considered while calculating the ROI for automation.
    Key take-aways:
  • Can automation suite be used beyond Regression testing?
  • To what extent can you automate?
  • When to start automation?
This session also throws light on Automation Life Cycle, Advantages- disadvantages of using Selenium and Selenium versus other commercial tools. Test case template and checklist for writing effective test cases will also be presented. It also walks you through Hybrid framework on Selenium using C#.
    Speaker
Sachin Kumar, Project Manager - Testing, Corbus
