09:00AM to 09:40AM: Session 1
Adopting Cloud in Your Enterprise
Cloud Computing has many definitions and many perspectives. Majority agree that this is a disruptive change that promises the CIO a paradigm, offering faster time-to-market, improved operational costs and reduced fixed costs. And not only CIOs, but CEOs and CFOs are also looking to explore the cloud for benefits that could accrue to them from changing operating models. New technology brings with it new set of tools and techniques. While cloud can be considered an evolution – from a technical perspective – but it is no different than a new technology from an adoption perspective. There are new operating models, new estimation models, new consumption models, new vendors and new skill-sets. Each of available option has its own set of pros and cons. The speaker will address on how to navigate your way through the maze?
Speaker
Rupak Rathore, Principal Consultant, HCL Technologies

09.40AM to 10.20AM: Session 2
ABCs of Cloud and Its Significance In Indian Context
Some are confused, some others skeptical- Everyone has their set of opinions and doubts pertaining to Cloud. Different jargons have been used to define the concept, some call it a sea change and others believe it to be yet another technology. Cloud is not new but this sudden blow of questions, confusions and criticisms make it certain that Cloud is undoubtedly interesting everyone. However recent reports presented at the CTIA Wireless show in New York by GFK Business & Technology unveiled that the majority of consumers are absolutely unaware of Cloud. The online survey conducted on 1,000 adults, claims, while half of the consumers recognized what Cloud is, there were merely 9% consumers who acknowledged that they fully understand the technology. Understanding Cloud is a three step process. To clear the air around the Cloud, here speaker will talk about the Who, What and How of the Cloud services and will highlight various application areas in Indian context.
Speaker
Kantanu Kundu, CEO & Founder, A2Z Apps

10.20AM to 11.00AM: Session 3
Visual PaaS - The Ultimate Weapon of Mass Disruption
In the past, IT did a lot of heavy lifting. We hand crafted platforms by combining various products like Databases, Middleware, App Servers, Web Servers, integration Servers, Portal Servers, Workflow Engines and so on. Not only did every enterprise create a unique combination, within the enterprise it was redundantly deployed for each of the applications or projects. In most cases, it ended up becoming a wish list approach and a blueprint in paper. This is or was called ‘Enterprise Architecture’ with all the hard-earned and well-intended effort. with the advent of Cloud, and a powerful Visual PaaS technology, this paradigm is making it's way back and will become one of the most dominant forces for the mass disruption in IT landscape. In this session, the speaker will talk about what Visual PaaS is, and how it is changing the paradigm.
Speaker
Ashish Bhagwat, Vice President, OrangeScape

11:00AM to 11:30AM: Networking break
A chance to meet up with your friends and have a cup of coffee!

11.30AM to 12.10PM: Session 4
Cloud Futures: Evolving Application Development Trends On the Cloud
Platform as a Service is all about delivery of a Computing Platform and building blocks as a Service. PaaS today is about enabling a variety of rich services such database services, versioning, instrumentation, persistence, scalability etc. As we see newer paradigms evolve, we are seeing an interesting dynamic where Innovative Services have started in the Cloud and then moved into on-premise equivalents. On the horizon, we can already see the next generation of PaaS services emerging around Social Framework integration, Discoverability through data and App marketplaces, Mashups, heterogeneous identity, cloud neutrality, big data and other topics. In this session, we will be exploring the continuing evolution of PaaS over the near future and how developers can prepare themselves for the change, today.
Speaker
Rahul Chitale, Director – Cloud Services, Microsoft India

12.10PM to 12.50PM: Session 5

02.30PM to 03.10PM: Session 7
PaaS Done Right with CloudFoundry
Cloud Foundry is the first Open PAAS project initiated by VMWare. CloudFoundry makes the life of developer easier by eliminating the time spent installing and configuring infrastructure such as application servers and JVMs. CloudFoundry is all about choices -- you have choice of frameworks (Spring + Java, Rails and Sinatara for Rails, and NodeJs), choice of Application Services (MySQL, REDIS, MongoDB), choice of Clouds (vSphere, vCloud, AmazonEC2) to work with. The best part of CloudFoundry is that it does not lock you to a cloud provider and does not add any limitations. It provides a great developer experience for building and deploying Java, Ruby, Node.js (and many other) applications to the cloud. Attendees will learn how to use Cloud Foundry command line tool (VMC) and STS(SpringSource Tool Suite) to deploy, update applications. Attendees will also learn how to manage a running application by monitoring its health, memory, instances and how to quickly reconfigure or scale to meet changing demand.
