In the year 1994, The Ponniamman Educational Trust was founded for the purpose of imparting technical education with special focus on the under privileged sections of society. The Trust founded the Thangavelu Engineering College and the Thangavelu College of Science and Management with the objective of turning out prospective executives in technical and management comparable with the best in the country. For Postgraduate courses, namely MBA and MCA, separate facilities in terms of buildings, labs, libraries and classrooms have been provided.
