About us:- Seemanta Engineering College, Mayurvihar, Mayurbhanj was the pet project of the Seemanta Mahavidyalaya Samiti. The project was instituted in 1997 to cater to the long cherished demands of technical education of North Odisha and the bordering regions of Jharkhand and West Bengal.

The Institute domiciled the confluence of NH – 5 and NH – 6 in the clean, green and serene foothills of Similipal National park as its permanent abode. The site of the Institute in such an exquisite ambience crafted an atmosphere perfectly conducive for the quest of residential Engineering. The team of dedicated, experienced and qualified faculty with a commitment to groom professionals of the 21st century’s corporate cosmos blended with an active corporate focussed placement cell facilitate the Institute’s success story in leaving an imprint among the students and their parents.

The establishment ofi Seemanta Engneering College during the 90’s in the district of Mayurbhanj in the extreme North end of Odisha bordering the then Bihar and now and West Bengal won accolade from all quarters of cross border intellectual society. The institute was the one and only Technical institution of the entire North and Rural Odisha by then.

This ISO 9001: 2000 certified institute of Mayurbhanj started its operation with three disciplines of Engineering for 180 aspirants. By dint of sheer commitment, hard work and innovation it could enhance its portfolio of disciplines today to provide B.Tech. Programme in Electronics & Telecommunication, Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil, Electronics & Instrumentation and Computer Science and Post graduate programme in MCA to 480 Prospective technocrats every year with due approval from the AICTE, New Delhi and Govt. Of Odisha and affiliation from BPUT, Rourkela, Odisha.

Placement:- he Placement Cell of SEC has played a pro-active role to train and place the passed out students of the institutes since 1997. It works in close co-ordination with the Continuing Education Programme centre of the institute to instil the desired corporate skills to make them employable. The track record of the Cell has been very persistent until now.

It provided 386 offers letters to 315 eligible students in 2009. Thereby the Cell provided multiple options for the students through Campus Drives by INFOSYS, SATYAM, SUBEX, KITE COMM., L&T INFOTECH, CMS, WIPRO, Assurgent, HCL, Cyndrake, Pigeons, Pahadpur Cooling Tower and Adept solutions.

For the students to be passed out in 2010, the Cell has already placed 207 students through Campus drives by Chevron IT Solution (Hydrabad), Bonti Corporate Services,sky Voice Telecom(Bangalore), Classic Elevator India Ltd.(New Delhi), Maverick Informatics (Hydrabad),sanguine Solution, Classic Elevator(India)Ltd, L & G Engineering (Jabalpur),Zindal Steel, Ramboll Imisoft, Indian Air Force, Elite Group, Torkfastner (Nasik),

Leads Compusoft (Bangalore) and HCL Technology (Noida),WIPRO. The Cell has set a target of 90% Placement for this batch.
