Rani Durgavati Vishwa vidyalaya, formerly University of Jabalpur, was constituted and established on 12 th June, 1956 under the Jabalpur University Act, 1956. There are, at present more than 120 affiliated Colleges, besides 23 University Teaching Departments providing education to about 85000 students in affiliated Colleges and about 1800 in University Departments.
