Great Rush for M.Tech & Ph.D Admissions at DTU

Delhi: May 22, 2013: Delhi Technological University (formerly Delhi College of Engineering) is committed to attract best of minds for its faculty and students, ensure high academic standards and encourage research and innovation in areas relevant to industry and society. Online Applications have been invited for post graduate programs of the university for the session 2013-14. DTU has received around 10,000 online registrations for its 22 M. Tech programs with a total intake of around 550 seats.

The great rush for M. Tech programs has been in Electronics & Communication Engineering including VLSI Design and Embedded System and Microwave and Optical Communications and Signal Processing and Digital Design, Computer Science & Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical & Production Engineering, Bio Informatics, Nanoscience & Technology, Information Systems and Polymer Science, Control & Instrumentation Engg., Structure Engg., Environment Engg., Hydraulic & Flood control Engg., Geotechnical Engineering etc.

“DTU has received around 1700 application forms as compared to about 1100 forms received last year for its Ph.D programme”, informs, Dr. Ruchika Malhotra, Coordinator (M.Tech & Ph.D Admissions). The great rush for Ph.D program has been in Computer Science & Engineering and Software Engineering programs in which 251 applications have been received. In Electronics & Communication programs, about 150 applications have been received, while for Biotechnology about 190 applications have been received. and in Management 194 applications have been received.The rush for M. Tech & Ph.D applications in DTU reflects the popularity of the high quality post graduate programs of the university which have received high placements in reputed industries and R& D Organizations during the campus placement in academic session 2012-13. All eligible PG have been placed in highly reputed companies. “The DTU has strong industrial surface and its PG & research programs are of high relevance & great value to the industries. Students pursuing the PG programs in the university engage themselves in research & development and are encouraged to opt for projects of high value to the industry”, informs Prof. P.B. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, DTU.
