About Us:
Kongu Engineering College, Erode which was established in 1984, is managed and run by Kongu Vellalar Institute of Technology Trust. The college is an autonomous engineering college. The institute is affiliated to Anna University, Coimbatore. Kongu Engineering College is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Government of India, New Delhi. The college imparts courses in various streams of engineering at the undergraduate and postgraduate level along with computer applications and management. Kongu Engineering College provides basic facilities to its students.
Affiliated to Anna University, the college has completed 25 years of dedicated service to the people of India and abroad in the field of Technical Education. The Institution has completely an enclosed site of great natural beauty and it consists of 173.25 areas of land richly endowed with beautiful Greenland. The college with its state of the art infrastructural facilities and excellent academic records has earned well deserved recognition and has emerged as one of the reputed educational institutions for men and women in India.

Placement Cell:
Placement cell has been functioning in our campus since 1998. The cell interacts with reputed organizations in order to arrange campus interviews for placement of final year students. The placement cell also arranges in plant training for students in industries. The students visit the industrial units and companies to gain first-hand work experience of various industrial activities.
Industries are contacted regularly. Campus placement training (HR,Technical, GD, Written Test & C,C++ program) is given in the pre-final year for all eligible candidates through

- Staff for practice
- Placement Officer for Fine Tuning
•Nearly 150 hours of training is given to all eligible candidates as part of campus placement training program.
• Conducts soft skills training program (100 hours) for all pre-final year students through our staff trained by Infosys Technologies.
• Department placement coordinators assist campus interviews and training programs.
•Has signed MOUs with leading industries like Wipro, Cognizant, Infosys and FL-Smidth.
•Arranges training program on soft skills and technical subjects for staff and students through Corporates.
•Conducts on line tests for improvement of English language.
