Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology – which holds the crown of being one of the fastest growing educational institutions in the country - stands as a testimony to Orissa’s march in the field of education.

KIIT educational conglomerate is unique in offering a wide spectrum of academic programmes from Kindergarten to Postgraduate level, earning it a place in the Limca Book of Records.

KIIT was conferred the University status in 2004 by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India in recognition of its excellence. The distinction, which made it the youngest ever to achieve it, came only after six years of commencement of undergraduate programmes; thus earning it an entry into the Limca Book of Records on another count.

Estd. in 1997 as an institution and declared as University in 2004.

Inception in 1992 as a modest industrial training institute functioning from rented premise with only 12 students and two faculty.

Conferred University status under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956 by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India in 2004.

Accredited by NAAC of UGC with 'A' Grade (CGPA 3.36)

All the technical courses are accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) of All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).

Other academic programmes are also approved by the respective Statutory Bodies of the Government of India

16 Contiguous campuses built on 350 acres of land area,65 lakh sq.ft of buildings, Currently 15,000 students are enrolled full-time into 50 academic programmes of KIIT Group of Institutions including 11,000 students in KIIT University.

Own entrance examination (KIITEE) for admission into most of the academic programmes.

800 faculty, scientists and researchers and 2500 management support staff
