The BLDE Association realised the growing needs of technical education in this region and started the College of Engineering and Technology. In 1995, this College was renamed as Vachana Pitamaha Dr. P.G.Halakatti College of Engineering and Technology. The institution is one amongst the most professional and well-equipped Engineering colleges in Karnataka offering nine under-graduate courses and two post-graduate courses. The Department of MCA was started in 1986, offers high quality academic programs consistent with the role of a regional public university. Students are encouraged to develop skills in problem solving, independent study and critical thinking, and are encouraged to adapt knowledge to new situations and apply it to the benefit of society.
