About Us :
Dr. Dharmambal Government Polytechnic College for Women, Chennai was established in 1962. It is an ISO 9001:2000 certified college. The college aims to elevate its status to a centre of Excellence in Women's Technical Education by a conscious and consistent enhancement of its performance in keeping with the International standards. It also strives towards global sustainability of environment protection through a clean and green environment in the Institution and conduct of environment related programs with international collaboration, thereby growing in strength and structure accomplishing its mission of offering quality programs and service not only to the students but also to the community and the nation, through optimum utilization of all its resources.
The Planning Commission approved the establishment of three Technical Institutions for Women in the Chennai state during the Third Five Year Plan period in G.O. Ms. No.1957 education, dated 9th June 1962.
