Dr.Ambedkar Institute of Technology is run by Panchajanya Vidya Peeta Welfare Trust. As a grant-in-aid institution of Government of Karnataka, 95% of the seats are filled up purely by merit by Common Entrance Test Cell (CET). Thus the academic environment is very good in the campus. Most of the engineering department starts in the year 1980 and initially intake of 120 students.
