The Basaveshwar Engineering College was started by offering bachelor degrees in Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. At present, it offers the degree programs in ten disciplines and five post graduate programs. The Department has been established since the inception of the college and has grown in size and strength over the last 40 years. The Department has well qualified and experienced faculty members who have the specializations in various areas. The college has been one of the Nodal Centers in the Northern Karnataka for campus interviews of Wipro, Tech-Mahindra, HCL, Robosoft, SLK-Soft, Caritor, Integra Micro, Apollo Tyres, Hewlett Packard, etc.
