Faculty of Sciences:The Faculty of Sciences encompasses teaching and research in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, computing, psychology and nursing grouped into four departments.Australia is embracing, as is much of the rest of the world, an economy which depends on the intellectual prowess of its workforce, the so called 'knowledge economy'. Science and technology underpins such an economy. It is crucial for the nation's future prosperity that it has a scientifically skilled workforce and a community that is scientifically literate.Thus it is an exciting and potentially rewarding time to be studying the sciences.
The Faculty of Sciences can offer you an outstanding learning experience in a caring yet stimulating intellectual environment at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level.
The Faculty has the largest number of on-campus students of any Faculty at University of Southern Queensland and also has many enrollments in its distance education programs. Over the years our graduates have established fine reputations with employers.
Faculty of Engineering and Surveying:The Faculty of Engineering and Surveying is a foundation faculty of the University of Southern Queensland. We are a leading provider of engineering and surveying programs in Australia and overseas. The Faculty's teaching is supported by a solid foundation of research and scholarship with an annual research revenue of more than $4 million.Approximately 2,500 students are currently studying our programs with approximately 24 per cent attending classes on-campus and the remainder studying
off-campus by distance education. A new Engineering and Surveying building was opened in 1997. Further expenditure of over $2 million enables us to provide students with teaching and laboratory equipment that reflects the latest technological advances in industry.
Faculty of Business:The Faculty of Business is the largest faculty in the University with 106 academic staff and 45 administrative staff. The Faculty of Business prides itself on providing the highest quality business education through its four academic schools. University of Southern Queensland Business prides itself on providing a high quality, flexible business education through programs which are widely accepted in the global market place. We understand that our students come from all walks of life, so we have designed innovative business programs which not only give you the edge to follow your own career path, but also allow you to study on-campus at one of the well-equipped campuses or from anywhere in the world with an internationally awarded distance education provider.
