About Tuskegee University :Tuskegee University is an independent, nonprofit higher education institution that has a special and unique relationship with the state of Alabama. Established initially in 1881 by the Alabama Legislature as a fully publicly controlled institution, the Tuskegee University became "state-related" in 1892.The organization of the University is designed to achieve the institution's purposes, which are primarily instruction, research and outreach. These activities are conducted chiefly in behalf of nurturing the intellectual, technical, more and civic development of students.The Board of Trustees establishes the governance and organization of the University and delegates authority to the President, who is the chief executive officer and spokesperson of the University. The President is assisted in the administration of the University by general and associate general officers.

College of Engineering At : Tuskegee University through its six Colleges and schools and Centers of Excellence, offers a curriculum for success that includes courses in engineering, the natural and physical sciences, the health sciences, business and computer science, aviation science, the social sciences, liberal arts and education, and the fine arts.The College of Engineering, Architecture and Physical Sciences has as one of its major objectives to prepare individuals for a full, satisfying and competitive career in an era when society demands comprehensive solutions to environmental and technologi­cal problems. The programs in engineering, computer science and physics prepare pro­fessionals with the ability to apply technology for the benefit of society. Tuskegee University has become clear that in producing the goods and services demanded by an expanding populace, technical solutions of tomorrow will incorporate mufti-faceted problem-solving which will involve not only socio-political impact but also economic and global ecological components. The Architecture and Construction Science and Management programs prepare professionals who are capable of playing an active role in rebuilding our cities and towns so they may become truly meaningful places for all people to work and live. These programs endeavor to develop professionals with an appreciation for the human­istic (social, psychological and physical) aspects of a building problem, as well as other factors such as health, safety, welfare and economic feasibility.


College of nursing At Tuskegee University: The CVMNAH is composed of the School of Veterinary Medicine (Animal Health) and the School of Nursing & Allied Health (Human Health).Tuskegee University is the only one of its kind in the United States where Animal Health (Veterinary Medicine) and Human Health (Nursing & Allied Health) are merged under one College within the framework.The convergence of people, animals, and our environment has caused a new dynamic in which the health of each group is inextricably interconnected. Many of the emerging and re-emerging infections are zoonotic - transmitted between animals and humans - in nature, like the Avian Flu, severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), Lyme disease, and rabies. Thus, it is extremely important to understand through research and practice the genetic make-up, structure, and metabolism of microorganisms, humans, and animals and their interactions. Research teams at the Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine, Nursing and Allied Health (CVMNAH) are engaged in such research.
