Welcome to Greenwich University - UK

About The University of Greenwich :

The Greenwich Campus is on a World Heritage Site on the banks of the River Thames. The university's largest campus is centred on three baroque buildings designed by Sir Christopher Wren at the end of the 17th century. "More breathtaking than the Versailles of Louis XIV" is how The Independent newspaper described it.

The library has an extensive collection of books and journals, as well as language laboratories, and a 200-PC computing facility. The university bookshop is located opposite, in the Mews Building. Other computer facilities are on campus, including specialist laboratories for the School of Computing & Mathematical Sciences. A TV studio and editing suites for use by Humanities & Social Sciences students are also on site.

The Stephen Lawrence Gallery provides a showcase for the work of contemporary artists. The grounds of the Old Royal Naval College, in which the Greenwich Campus is situated, also houses the tourist attractions of the Painted Hall and Chapel.

Schools And Colleges:

The Business School :
The Business School has over 4,000 students and around 150 academic staff, located at the Greenwich Campus in south-east London. It occupies one of the historic buildings designed by Sir Christopher Wren. The Greenwich Campus includes an excellent library with computing and learning facilities.

Our teaching staff have both academic and professional qualifications and bring a wealth of real business awareness and experience. They are supported by a range of business executives from Canary Wharf and the City who run a programme of guest lectures.

Business success worldwide can only be achieved through people. Managers need to be educated to respond rapidly, flexibly and effectively to the ever increasing pace of change in the business world.

School of Engineering :
Engineering has been at the heart of this institution since its foundation in 1890. In 1910, our predecessor the Woolwich Polytechnic offered its first degrees in engineering, and the school has grown in size and reputation ever since.

The relocation of the school in 1997 to the prestigious Medway campus, and the significant investment in new facilities there, have enabled us to successfully meet the ever-changing requirements of engineering, with programmes that reflect the needs of industry - locally, nationally and internationally.

A key strength is that the fields of computer and communications engineering, civil engineering, electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, product design and engineering management are all accessible within one school.

The School of Health & Social Care : The School of Health & Social Care was established in 1990 following the merger of the Dartford & Gravesham School of Nursing and Midwifery and Greenwich & Bexley School of Nursing and Midwifery. In 1993 the school joined the University of Greenwich and is now one of the largest in the University. The School of Health & Social Care is based on the Avery Hill Campus in Eltham and also has a significant presence at the Medway Campus at Chatham Maritime.

The School provides programmes for 900 pre-registration Nursing & Midwifery students. There are also opportunities for Continuing Professional Development  for Registered Nurses and Midwives which  may lead to  Degrees in Clinical Practice, Mental Health Work  or Professional Practice, or Masters Degrees in Research or Professional Practice and also PhD studies. We also offer degrees in Health, Public Health, Social Work and Social Care. A pre-registration nursing programme is offered jointly with Canterbury Christchurch University at the Medway Campus together with a Post Graduate Diploma in Speech & Language Therapy which commenced in 2007.
