School of Engineering At University of Dayton:the School of Engineering's new $4 million facility, where students tackle problems straight from industry, to the imaginative spirit that distinguishes engineering at the University of Dayton - we've captured the essence of invention rooted in Dayton history.You'll learn more than the professional and technical skills that contemporary careers demand. You'll get the University of Dayton edge. Along with innovation, our students learn to work and live with integrity. University of Dayton engineers deliver solutions that benefit people's lives - and sometimes save them.We've designed adaptive devices that enable children with disabilities to become more independent, and we've created eco-efficient cook stoves in countries where open-fire cooking can cause deadly respiratory problems. Every year University of Dayton engineering students make the world a better place. University of Dayton students have also worked with local and regional industries on projects that include a low-risk alternative to gastric bypass surgery, an energy-efficient commercial dishwasher and a pollution-free pontoon boat motor. They also have worked with entrepreneurs on a solar-triggered security light system and a pill dispenser for cardiologists and patients to better track medicine dosages and frequency.

While our state-of-the-art facilities are designed to foster collaboration and teamwork, learning at UD isn’t confined to the classroom.In the Davis Center for Portfolio Management, undergraduate students invest over $8 million of the University of Dayton endowment, one of the top-15 student-managed portfolios in the country. Flyer Enterprises, the nation's fourth-largest student-run business, operates six campus retail establishments, employs more than 170 students and posts more than $1.3 million in annual revenue. Entrepreneurship majors launch more than a dozen micro businesses every year, and haven't gone unnoticed — Entrepreneurship magazine and the Princeton Review named University of Dayton one of the nation's top five entrepreneurship programs.We offer the region's only multidisciplinary, team-taught MBA program. Since 2003, students and faculty, working in capstone and MBA courses, have conducted more than 100 consulting projects that assisted area companies and non-profits.
