Faculty &School University of Canberra:
Faculty of Health: The Faculty of Health at the University of Canberra aims to contribute to building a healthier community, both in the ACT and nationally. The Faculty trains nurses and midwives, psychologists, pharmacists, physiotherapists, dietitians, nutritionists, exercise scientists, sport management and media professionals, and experts in coaching and exercise science. We are also intent on developing additional courses to respond to skills shortages and the needs and interests of people in the ACT and surrounding regions.We are establishing a strong profile in relation to innovation in clinical teaching and work-integrated learning . Funding from the Department of Health and Aging has helped us initiate a series of innovative clinical training activities, including our Rural Clinical Training Stream, our successful student-led clinics in physiotherapy and dietetics and our innovative student-nurse led aged care wards. All of these developments are aimed at expanding the scope and quality of the learning experience that our students gain from their clinical education.
School of Nursing and Midwifery At University of Canberra :We teach nursing and midwifery undergraduate students, honors students, ENs converting to RNs, RNs from overseas transitioning to RNs in Australia, students with previous degrees, as well as nurses who have been out of the nursing workforce for some time (maybe more than 10 years, or less) and who are returning to work. We teach nursing and midwifery postgraduate students; we offer graduate certificates, diplomas, and masters in areas such as critical care, clinical leadership, mental health, and research. We also offer a Graduate Diploma in Midwifery for nurses who wish to be midwives.
Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering At University of Canberra :We in the Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering aim to be the best provider of undergraduate education in Australia for people wishing to enter the professions, and the best provider of postgraduate education for those wishing to advance in the professions. The Faculty also aims to be widely known for high-quality research which responds to community and industry needs.The Faculty values its strong engagement with the industry. Our research profile is strengthening and there has been a significant increase in students joining us for higher degrees by research.The Faculty enjoys a nice mix of staff with expertise spanning most areas of ICT.
Faculty of Business At University of Canberra:The Canberra Graduate School of Business & Government within the Faculty of Business & Government offers a broad range of coursework and research based qualifications in a range of fields. Many of the postgraduate coursework qualifications offered through the Canberra Graduate School of Business & Government are available in both a Saturday workshop 'intensive' mode and an evening weekday mode allowing students in full time employment the opportunity to learn in a participatory, supportive environment at a time that best suits their needs.
