Maple Bear

About us
Canada is a land of immigrants with people from all across the world living under the same sky. No wonder Canadian education system became one of the strongest in the world, which can be adapted to any country with ease. The concept of Maple Bear originated in Canada as part of Canadian Education Centre Network project, which was setup by the Government of Canada to promote Canada as a global educational hub. As a part of this project, Maple Bear was intended to facilitate the early childhood education. Later on, the leaders of the project hired the all team of Canadian curriculum writers and moved Maple Bear as a separate entity. With very strong curriculum and innovative pedagogy, Maple Bear grew quickly, not only in the Canadian early childhood education sector but also worldwide. In 2005, they franchised their first international center in India, collaboration (Joint Venture) with Modi Edutech (Modi Group) happened in 2011. At present, Maple Bear has presence in 12 different countries with more than 172 schools. In India alone, they have more than 51 centers. "Maple Bear is an early childhood program, which originated from Canada with international standards. The program is very child centric and the whole activities revolve around our little children," says Hazel Siromoni, Managing Director, Maple Bear India.
From Toddler to Senior Kindergarten:
Maple Bear has separately designed programs catering to different age group of kids. In the toddler years, children begin to experiment on a more advanced level than at the infant stage. Their range of motor skills increases, and they begin to progress to a higher cognitive level. Their language skills, in this period, are rapidly developing. Maple Bear helps the kids develop his/her self-help skills while pushing for individuality and independence. When they grow older, they will start exploring more and at the same time will make more friends. The nursery program of Maple Bears best suited for kids below three and half years and above two and half years. The program provides a rich classroom environment where children are encouraged to explore and are challenged to learn. The toddler and nursery programs at Maple Bear are fun based activities. However, the real learning process and a deep curriculum begin at Junior Kindergarten. This is a critical time for children, as it is here that they begin an adventure of a lifetime of learning. Maple Bear's caring and experienced teachers are dedicated to providing a rich and nurturing environment that will prepare the child for Kindergarten. They promote independence in an organized atmosphere, as it is increasingly important for children to be their own thinkers. They also teach children to work well within a group, through listening, sharing and cooperation. Towards the end of the final stages of preschool, Maple Bear's activities are tailored to meet child's individual needs, and the teachers provide opportunities to explore, question, communicate and create in a fun and supportive atmosphere. The senior KG curriculum of Maple Bear meets and even exceeds state and national content standards for the first-grade, ensuring that a child is prepared to excel at the next level.

Maple Bear is a place not only for kids but also for parents. They provide special trainings for parents, wherein they can learn more about the way of perfect parenting. By attending this training session, parents can benefit through hands on experience with the guidance of an experienced teacher on parenting. It is also a platform to meet other parents of toddlers, preschoolers and enjoy lively discussions and by doing so parents can learn more about child development.
Quick Fact:
However, even a well-structured curriculum can create negative effect on kids if there are no trained teachers to facilitate them in a proper way. "You can have a great program and great curriculum but if it is not executed properly, then everything is irrelevant," says Hazel Siromoni. Maple Bear never had scarcity of trained teachers in their institutions as they have their own teacher training programs, which is headed by both Indian and Canadian trainers. They regularly conduct workshops for the teachers and make sure that everyone who is dealing with kids at the preschool are very well molded to fulfill the organization's vision.
By bringing the Canadian early childhood pedagogy to Indian soil and mixing it up perfectly with methodologies here, Maple Bear is offering a wide range of quality services to the society. The international standard of the curriculum at Maple Bear is what give the Maple leaves their advantage. The programs of Maple Bear are available across 12 countries namely India, China, Korea, Turkey, Bangladesh, Brazil, Vietnam, Morocco, Mexico, Singapore, USA and UAE.
