YuMe Raises $11.9 Million in Funding

California: California-based video advertising network YuMe raised $11.9 million in funding from existing investors Accel Partners, Menlo Ventures, and Khosla Ventures, reports VentureBeat. In the past, YuMe has raised funds from Accel Partners, BV Capital, DAG Ventures, Khosla Ventures, Menlo Ventures, and Intel Capital.

YuMe was co-founded in 2004 by Jayant Kadambi and Ayyappan Sankaran. Kadambi, Co-Founder and CEO, YuMe has over 10 years of experience in networking, hardware architecture, and semiconductors. He was the Vice Pesident aR&D and Officer of Netopia. He co-founded StarNet, a VoDSL company and has held various technical and marketing positions AMD's network division and AT&T Bell Labs. Kadambi received his BSEE and Masters in Electrical Engineering from Renesselaer Polytechnic. He is also the co-author of a book on Gigabit Ethernet and holds several patents in the field of networking.

Sankaran was the Director of software development at Netopic and was the co-founder of StarNet. He has held various technical positions in Octel Communications, Abbott Labs, and Ready Systems. Sankaran received his BSEE from the University of Engineering, Madras, and has a Masters in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas.
