Kolaveri Di became so viral that this song from Tamil Nadu broke the South-North barriers in India and has reached to countries across the globe, spanning across the Arab land to the European countries. There wouldn’t be a song that became so popular in India wiping off the rigid lines of language, geographies and cultures in India. The song is from the soundtrack of the upcoming Tamil film 3, directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth, the daughter of Tamil superstar Rajinikanth. The video of the song featuring Tamil actor Dhanush, co-star Shruti Haasan, his wife and the director of the movie Aishwarya and composer Anirudh spread like a wildfire on Youtube. Soon after the release of the song, the hashtag #kolaveri topped the Indian trends in Twitter on 21 November 2011. The video received more than 3.5 million views on YouTube within a week. It crossed 30 million Youtube views by the beginning of 2012. The official video has now nearly 48,700,482 views on Youtube.
