Toledo ranks 68 on the Cost of doing business list, which is based on the cost of labor, energy, and office space. Toledo has seen a loss of over 4.7 percent jobs since 1997, and Forbes has ranked as the ‘Worst medium-sized city for jobs’. Toledo has seen huge losses to the tune of 14.1 percent in the natural resources sector (which is the breadwinner), and the jobs in the manufacturing sector took a downslide with a decline of 11.9 percent.
