World's Worst Air Crashes in Past 5 Years


July 17, 2007, Brazil:

A passenger flight between Porto Alegre and San Paulo, Brazil crashed upon landing during rain in San Paulo on July 17, 2007. The Airbus A320 belonging to TAM airline overran the runway, crossed a major access road during rush hour, crashed at high speed into a TAM Express warehouse adjacent to a filling station and exploded. All passengers and crew were killed in the crash along with twelve other people on the ground.

 

May 5, 2007, Cameroon:

A Kenya Airways Boeing 737-800 plane carrying 114 people crashed soon after take-off from Douala Airport on 5 May, 2007. There crash led to death of all and there were no survivors. The plane broke up into small pieces and came to rest mostly submerged in a mangrove swamp, near the Douala International Airport's runway 12.
