Liliane Bettencourt: She is the daughter of Eugène Schueller, the founder of L'Oréal. She’s the principal share holder of the cosmetics company. Her current net worth is calculated as $34.5 billion, making her the second richest woman on the planet.

Last year she occupied the top spot in list. This year, she added up a sizeable amount of wealth to her kitty owing to the 9 percent increase in stock price of L’Oreal.  The 91 year old heiress who’s suffering from dementia has stayed away from the day to day management of the company owing to bad health.

Alice Walton: One more name from the Wal-Mart family. She’s the daughter of Wal-Mart founder Sam Walton. Her current net worth is estimated at $34.3 billion, making her the third richest woman in the world-two places behind her sister-in-law Christy Walton. An avid lover of art, she runs the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville. She is also known as a politically active person. She is involved in fund raising for Hillary Clinton’s next Presidential election campaign in 2016. In 2012, she gave away $2 million to support the charter school initiative.
