Forbes Magazine has listed Azim Premji, the Chairman of the software company Wipro, second in the list of top 5 gainers of personal wealth. The single day personal wealth of Premji is $292.71 million and the net worth of the company is $15.9 billion as of March 2012.

An Indian business tycoon and philanthropist, Azim Hashim Premji is the chairman of Wipro, guiding the company through four decades of diversification and growth to emerge as one of the Indian leaders in the software industry.

According to the magazine, he is currently the third wealthiest man in India, and the 41st richest man in the world.

Time Magazine had twice listed Premji among the 100 most influential people, once in 2004 and more recently in 2011. 79 percent of Wipro is owned by Premji and he also owns a private equity fund, Premji Invest, which manages his $1 billion personal portfolio.
