After the revenues of the Russian energy giant Gazprom fell 2.7 percent to $153.5 billion in 2012, the company slipped six spots on this year’s list. However, the company still holds the third position in terms of profits with $38.1 million.

Though Gazprom says that it holds the world’s largest natural gas reserves, but the company is facing some problems as its monopoly on exports from Russia is undr pressure from inland competitors and America’s shale gas boom.
