Three Indians on TIME's Most Influential 100

P Chidambaram:
Finance Minister P Chidambaram also made it to the list of most influential people. Described as "a trusted counsellor to the ruling Congress Party's Gandhi family, Chidambaram's experience is unsurpassed", wrote Time.

Playing "an important role as India opened its economy" in the 1990s, "his reform record has been spotty," Time said and suggested: "To land India's top job, he needs to revive his country's economic fortunes. He may also need to adopt a more Indian style."

Chidambaram was listed in the ‘Titans’ category. His profile was written by Ruchir Sharma, who is head of emerging markets at Morgan Stanley.

Vrinda Grover:
Delhi lawyer Vrinda Grover also made it to TIME ‘Most Influential People’ list. Grover's "work as a human-rights lawyer and advocate for women's rights has meant that she presses down pretty hard", wrote Time.

"Her determination to force an often recalcitrant political and legal system to change was evident in these past few heated months, as a particularly tragic rape in Delhi brought women's rights center stage," it noted.

Vrinda’s profile was written by Nilanjana Roy, who writes on gender and is the author of The Wildings.

Barack Obama, Kamala Harris, Malala Yousafzai, Aung San Suu Kyi, Pope Francis are some of the popular names that featured in the TIME most influential 100 list.
