While the other competitors were moving on to develop newer models, Motorola was clinging to the RAZR. Sanjay Jha joined Motorola in 2008, with the aim to turnaround the handset business. Under his leadership, the company joined hands with Google to jump to a win-win position. He helped to position its Android offerings for Verizon Wireless initial move to Android. He also helped the company tie up with AT&T, Sprint Nextel, and T-Mobile USA to provide Motorola’s Android devices.

The company’s losses have narrowed down and in the fourth quarter of 2010, it posted net revenues of $3.4 billion. The company has also crawled to the tablet market with the Xoom. Jha’s biggest achievement was on getting Google to buy Motorola Mobility in a whopping $12.5 billion deal.
