The California-based company MapR was founded by John Schroeder, and M.C. Srivas. MapR sells and distributes Hadoop-derived software. The company’s best way is to combine the data and compute together and send the results over the network. The simplicity of the service provider is to ease the complexity to some degree that the users face with Hadoop and streamlines the overall process. The company raised around $20 million last year and its partnership with EMC will be worth watching.
