Master Blaster Retires From ODI, Suprises Many

Sachin and Ganguly were once the dynamic duo in the Indian cricket team, the opening batsmen who scored 26 hundred plus partnerships in ODIs in which 21 partnerships were for the opening wicket. Both of these partnerships are world records set by the pair. The pair has scored 12,400 runs together and had 38 hundred plus partnerships in international cricket, another world record set by the duo.

Sachin has been appreciated for his field sport, but most immensely he is admired for the supporting and dedicated team mate he has been. As tweeted by off - spinner Harbhajan Singh, “Sachin Tendulkar. A great batsman. A great human being. A great friend. A great man to look up to. The real son of India. I salute and love you.” Harbhajan also wrote about Sachin’s sporting records, “No one else will be able to come close to these numbers.”

Krishnamachari Srikkanth, the former Indian opener said that Tendulkar’s decision surprised him. Srikkanth added, “I am surprised by his move but he is leaving ODI cricket on a high. I am sure he would want to leave on a high in Test cricket too. He will be looking forward to a good Test series against Australia.” Srikkanth also said, “It is easy for us to say that he could have retired after the 2011 World Cup. He has got his 100th century in the Asia Cup. His records cannot be surpassed.”
