If the companies are able to demonstrate the business value they derive from the IT services, they would be able to make a better decision with the implementation of the IT services. Generally, companies go in for the latest technology depending on the trends and not based on the value they gain from it. Thus, the demonstration of the exact value by the IT services would help the companies plan their budget accordingly, leading to huge savings.
The demonstration of value would help companies in determining what services are most consumed by it and fix a budget for IT. To demonstrate a greater value, the IT project proposals should be allowed to exceed the limits of the conventional accounting practices, and include the gains made in the knowledge capital.
