Education Technology Startup eDreams Software Raises 5 Crore

Bangalore: eDreams Software Innovation, a Bangalore based disruptive technology product startup, has raised upto 5 crore from Mumbai Angels. The company plans to use the fund to expand its sales and marketing team, and add content development. eDreams was established in 2010 by Rajeev Pathak along with other members from IITs and IIMs. eDreams products are driven by innovations across technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, NLP and Speech Processing. It has partnered with many educational and research organizations and is involved in basic and applied research to develop products at par with global standards. Currently eDreams has a headcount of 20 people. "Our most innovative product, not only in India but globally, and the guidance that we provide to individual kids are the key components that has influenced Mumbai Angels to invest in our company. The core strength of our team is also an important factor in raising this round of fund," says Rajeev Pathak, Founder and CEO, eDreams. The investment has come through winning the 'THE PITCH SEASON 2', a BloombergUTV's business reality show. Pathak has a Master's degree in Business Administration from IIM Bangalore and M.Tech from BITS Pilani. Prior to eDreams, he was the General Manager, Software Products Group at Wipro. He has won many awards at Wipro in business innovation, business development, account and project management, and also has over 19 years of work experience to his credit. The company has built an intelligent personalized tutor Funtoot that teaches children in a fun and interactive manner. The tool assists teachers to monitor their students regularly and help parents be aware of the progress of their children. It can also observe, assess, diagnose, interact, encourage and help children depending upon their multiple intelligence and other characteristics.
