MIT Sloan School of Management

MIT, sloan, patni, management theoryEstablished in 1914, MIT Sloan emphasizes on innovation and invention and is the home to many of the world’s famous management and finance theories.  It is the alma mater of many notable entrepreneurs: Mitch Kapor, Founder of Lotus Software; Gideon Gartner, Founder & Former CEO, Gartner; Narendra Patni, Founder and CEO of Patni Computers (now iGate Patni); and many more.

MIT requires students to apply concepts learned in classroom to real-world business settings. It does not offer any academic honors at graduation. There are numerous academic and cultural societies which focus on more than research and education. A study by the Kauffman Foundation states that if the active companies founded by MIT graduates were to form an independent nation, it would be the 11th largest economy in the world. The MIT $100K Competition has launched more than 130 companies, which have generated more than 2500 jobs and have a market cap of more than $15 billion.
