5. Shaktimaan

Shaktimaan was a fictional Indian television superhero who had super strength, the ability to fly, and was not affected by any of the things that cause injuries to the body. The series created by Dinker Jani and Mukesh Khanna was well-accepted by children and Shaktiman became their beloved hero in a short time span.

Shaktiman also created lot of controversies, as there were reports that small kids who were highly inspired by this champion set themselves on fire and jumped off buildings, in the hope that Shaktimaan would save them. As a measure to stop this, Khanna had to spent a considerable part of the telecasting time to explain to the children that the stunts shown on TV were not real and should not be imitated. Another highlight of this show was the ‘Sorry Shaktimaan’ campaign which came at the end of the serial, advising children on do’s and don’ts.
