Beginning a Successful Entrepreneurial Journey: Ashok Soota

Ashok then went on to talk about the 3 things to avoid. He says:

“Business is about risk. Don’t bet on the company.”

“Don’t ever use inappropriate means to get ahead.”

“In an entrepreneurial setup it is easy to get carried away with early success or disappointment with early failures.”

He then spoke about the things to do and to focus on:

1. “Learning from success even more than failures.” Ashok said “You must learn from your success more than your failure. Focus on your success, celebrate your success, it increases passion, increases energy, increases commitment and you will be able to succeed. Neither will bad times last forever.” Ashok quoted a study which said “Focus on what you do well, it leads to better results rather than always looking at what went wrong.”

2. “As you select your team, take the time to get the right person.” He said that it is important to get the selection of key people right.

3. “Convert every problem into an opportunity.” Ashok is of the opinion that what may seem as a problem in the first instance, when tackled in the right way, can become an opportunity.

4. “Doing more with less.” He said that in an entrepreneurial mode, you have limited resources and you have to learn to do more with less.
