An Age Where Machines Are Taking Over the World, Through Technology and Innovation

The city’s traffic is one of the challenges for the Tech rookies have to deal with, which wasn’t the case back in the days for the pioneers in the IT sector.

The convention gave an overview of the cities being best suited for entrepreneurship in terms of its weather, recreational facilities, cosmopolitan citizens, education institutes and the job opportunities.

Vivek Kulkarni, chairman and CEO of Brickwork India spoke about the importance of Bangalore to create a brand name. He also focused on the need for developing the intangible assets of a company, in terms of goodwill which will enhance the company’s net worth. The management of intangible assets can shift the value of the company and cause loss or gain for a company.

He said, “The companies which are patented recently are the ones who are doing well like Facebook, unlike Nokia who patent long back isn’t doing so well.” He spoke about the first quarter sale of Apple iPhone which touched $17 million in the first quarter defying the intellectual value set by the Korean scientist on the iPhone.

The last speaker at the convention was S. Gopalakrishnan or ‘Kris’ as he is popularly known, the Co-Founder and Executive Co-Chairman of Infosys. He spoke about the high level of opportunities available today for the new entrepreneurs in every field. He believes in the power and influence of technology which has captivated millions in the world today. He said “A tweet of 140 characters carries the power to scare the government these days,”

Kris said “In the 21st century the 20th century models don’t apply”. He feels today the world is changing constantly and at a steady pace. Today the world is less about the size; it’s not about the high number of employees in the company for it to be successful, which was the case 20 years back. In the 21st century it is more about the small industries providing services, catering to a wide range of consumers.

Small companies have the potential to reach to 100 million people, with instant processing, instant storing through applications like Cloud. This has created a new trend where innovation and technology is empowering the mass; even the governments of many countries are in a phase to reinvent themselves. They withhold individuals from voicing out and sharing opinions, as the government doesn’t want individuals to lead and take control. However, Indians are now demanding more participation in the country over important decision which can be made available online these days.
