Magma Design appoints Alok Mehrotra as MD, India operations

Bangalore: Magma Design, provider of chip design software, appoints Alok Mehrotra as Managing Director of the company’s India operations. In his new position, Mehrotra will be focusing on managing company's presence in India, which needs focus on both the indigenous engineering community and on supporting multinational customers with key installation in the country. Earlier he served the company as Director of Asia-Pacific sales from 2001 to 2005. "Mehrotra's background makes him well suited to this role – he has many years managing sales and support in India and across the globe, and he has the experience to work with our employees in India to continue the work that has contributed significantly to Magma’s success," said Rajeev Madhavan, Chairman and CEO, Magma. Prior to Magma, Mehrotra worked as Director of sales for synthesis platform developer Synfora, served Silicon Design Systems as the Vice President of worldwide sales and at Sagantec North America. He also served as the Director of business development for Aristo and IC Design Manager at Xilinx. Mehrotra holds MBA from Santa Clara University, M.S. in electrical engineering from State University of New York at Stony Brook; and B.S. degree in electronics & communication engineering from Manipal University in Karnataka, India.
