Xerox India launches 7400 series for enterprises
Bangalore: Xerox India has launched three new products- WorkCenter 7425/7428/7435 based on HI Q LED technology. This is Xerox's first move into the 11-20 ppm (Page Per Minute) category. The products will mainly target Small and Medium-size Business (SMBs), enterprises and government. The company has planned to launch the event termed as 'What's you printer's HI Q?' in 14 Indian cities in coming 14 days. Speaking on the launching of the product, Princy Bhatnagar, Director, Office Business Group, Xerox India said, "This launching event will educate our partners and customers about the business potential of this technology, with its compelling value proposition for businesses to remain competitive, especially in today's challenging times." According to IDC Q1 2009 report, currently, the overall market size for A3 color and monochrome printers is 943 crores. The market size of Xerox in 11-20 ppm is 13 percent and in 21-38 ppm is 10 percent. The company is expecting that 7400 series will satiate the upcoming demand and enable Xerox India to enhance its market share in the segment. Bhatnagar says, "The 11-20 ppm category is expected to grow at 30 percent year over year (YOY) for the next three years." By launching this 7400 series product, Xerox wants to end the mindset of all the enterprises of saving the money by black and white printing. Bhatnagar says, "With the help of this new product, customers can take the print out at 2 per page and for A3 page it will cost around 3." H1 Q LED technology runs on the new Xerox H1 Q printhead that contains an array of 15,000 light emitting diodes (LEDs). The LEDs flash through this lens array to form latent images on the photo receptive drum producing a high print quality. "The chance of damage is very low in HI Q due to having very less number of LED in comparison to laser printing," said Bhatnagar. The HI Q LED technology is also an environment friendly technology that offers competitive advantage over cost with 20 percent efficiency. The technology has numerous advantages over other printing technologies including better edge enhancement, high quality image resolution of 1200x2400 dpi, better registration, color correction and half toning enhancement, thereby making it the preferred printing choice for customers today. Talking about the uniqueness of HI Q LED technology, Bhatnagar said, "The HI Q LED is an upgraded version of the LED technology and it is expected to make its mark in the printing market owing to its technology innovation and product differentiation." This product is likely to offer high-capacity paper trays up to 5,140 sheets, page level programming along with fax forwarding feature. They meet the requirements for the Blue Angel environmental award and are also Energy Star compliant. The WorkCenter series is IPv6-ready for better security. As part of their channel strategy Xerox is working with the existing regional players that provide specific solutions to the various verticals and has no plans for expansion this year. Bhatnagar says, "This year we are not really looking at expanding because we need to focus on consolidating business and opportunities with the present set of partners. The biggest problem right now for channel partners is the fact that finance has become quite scarce."
