Seeing the rising demand Videocon has rightly entered the Android market with its multi-touch phone Zeus in the Indian market at a price of just 12,900. This Android Eclair smartphone comes with a large 3.2 inch multi-touch capacitive screen, though compared to Motorola Droid's 3.7 inch screen it is still to attain the ideal screen size of a smartphone. It has a 600 MHz Qualcomm Microprocessor, 5MP camera, WI-FI, A-GPS and Push Mail amongst many other features. The Android powered Zeus replicates the PC experience for the user on the move. While Zeus is a big step in the smartphone market, Videocon has kept in mind the homegrown competition too. Witnessing the dual battery step of Olive mobile, who had unveiled in September its FrvrOn which can also be charged with AAA Batteries, Videocon within a span of one month introduced its V 1603. The V603 is the mobile phone with dual battery - External and Internal Battery with toggle key. The Dual batteries give a talk time of 4+1 hour and 250 +50 hours of standby time. It also has a Dual T Flash phone with an external hot swappable micro SD card, which means that the user does not have to shut down the phone to change SD cards, It has a 2 MP Camera phone with 2.4 inch screen. Its two memory card slot supports 4GB expandable memory card each. Anil Khera the CEO of Videocon Mobile Phones clears out his objective saying, "Our objective is to emerge amongst the leading players based on our range and offerings. The entry into the Android space and dual battery market extends our offering, thus placing us better amongst the leading Indian players, and we are keen to enhance our penetration across the markets." Apart from these two ranges the company also Videocon V1410, V1603, V1475 and V1606. Mobile phone market today is very dynamic and price sensitive. People are looking for a Mobile phone that can not only express their style but at the same time is unique in its own self. Videocon though has tried to reach out to that level, yet just like its any other consumer product, Zeus and V1603 will take its own sweet time to take on brands like Micromax, who stands second to Nokia and are expected to bring in their Anroid phone shortly.
