Bangalore: It is easy for you to accept a friend request in Facebook or to type and search for anything in Google. But have you ever thought of the amount of work goes into the little search bar or arrow bar which appears at the corner of your browser? The companies literally use thousands of employees to make sure that every service is working properly.

You might have wondered about the desktop set ups or equipments that the engineers working at the Big tech companies use. For those people, Edmond Lau, an ex-Google search technician explained the whole set up in a post on Quora, which will show you the preferences of those who work in Google.

 

The default setup provided on the first day of an engineer in Google will be a Linux desktop with a modified version of Ubuntu.  Some Mac users also used Mac Pros in addition to their Linux desktops.
