Currently over five million users are working online with Zoho. Zoho is a comprehensive suite of online productivity, collaboration and business applications for small and medium-sized businesses. Formerly known as AdventNet, Zoho was founded in 1996 by Sridhar Vembu. It is quite a surprise that the company has not raised a single penny and has been bootstrapped since the beginning. He believes that the VCs have different priorities and different motivations than people who create and operate businesses. As a founder, Vembu never had the interest in exiting his business. He says that he is in the business to run it and not to run away from it.
