Fremont: Mashape, an API marketplace, denied the acquisition by both private and medium size companies, and Foursquare turned down Yahoo’s! offer of $100 million. Surprisingly it sort to make all of us wonder “what on earth are you thinking?” These are not just the two companies that denied a lump sum of money and stock for acquisition. startups that denied acquisition, Rovio, ZyngaRovio snubbed the offer of Zynga to buy the Angry Birds brand and underlying assets for about $2.25 billion in cash and stock. It is said that Rovio walked away from discussions of the deal. One of the reason for the denial was Angry Birds being the most downloaded game of all-time and the fastest growing game in history, scoring 500 million downloads in less than two years since its release. They perhaps would have felt that their core business numbers will increase in the near future.
